Important Updates from Human Resources

Salary and Benefits: In light of upcoming end-of-year retirements, the HR Office has received many inquiries regarding the salary and benefits due to employees, including what employees should expect to receive as well as when payouts will occur. As a reminder, salary and benefits are prorated based on an employee’s start and end date with the District. This has always been our practice.  Please contact the Office of Human Resources for questions specific to your employment, and we would be happy to walk you through your entitlements.

Planning for retirement in the near future? Contact HR and we can perform a comprehensive review of your employment history with the District (ex: Hilton CSD years of service, rate of pay, accrual balance, medical insurance eligibility, contractual entitlements, etc.) to provide you with detailed information regarding what to expect based on your anticipated retirement date. For pension figures and calculation of total years of service with New York State, TRS members can contact the NYS Teachers’ Retirement System (1-800-348-7298 ext. 6100), and ERS members can contact the New York State & Local Retirement System (1-866-805-0990) for more information.

Need to buy back prior Hilton CSD time with the New York State Retirement System? Please contact Sherri DaMore in the Business Office (ext. 7032) to obtain information. New York State’s processing time for buying back time is currently upwards of one year or more.

Who do you call in Hilton?

In an effort to provide our employees with some department contacts and information on who to call, we have created the Department Contacts and Program Highlights document for you. We have also placed it on the SharePoint for you to access.  HR SharePoint Link
